Ray Whitener
Ray Whitener, age 85, of Murphy, North Carolina, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2011. He was a son of the late Fred and Mattie Danner Whitener. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Whitener and Clifton Whitener and four sisters, Vesta Beavers, Ella Whitener, Edna Whitener and Ruth Whitener.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters and sons-in-law; three sons and daughters-in-law; one sister; six grandchildren.
Funeral Services were Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the Shady Grove Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Townson-Rose Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
